Joint Council Meeting

Last night our club hosted the SF/Peninsula Joint Council meeting. It's been a number of years since we've done it, but we've always had a great turnout. We set the dinner for 80, but ended up with 100. Course, that also meant dinner started late. No program, other than roll call and the costume contest. Lots of fun, good good and prizes.

Back from Reno!

Yep, we made it back with our pants! LOL! We really didn't do much gambling this trip. We're actually pretty low down the chain compared to the high rollers, anyway! Emil did win enough on Friday night for a very nice dinner at Oceano at the Peppermill and to cover some of my SB and other purchases. Then, when we had just checked out, I saw another machine to play and promptly got back double of what I put in in less than 5 minutes. Wish I could do that all the time! We grabbed the money and ran! LOL!
The next trip we go to, I have to make sure I have a copy of the intinerary! We made it to the Lions Eye Foundation dinner and he made it to their meeting, but not without a bunch of phone calls! Emil did pass out the flyers for our next cruise (Alaska 9/06) and anyone interested, please let me know and I'll send you a flyer! This is our second Cruise for Sight, going out of Seattle. We hope to surpass what we raised the first trip!
While he was gone at the meeting, I did manage to get some tag kits (from www.getcropping.com) done or partially done. I'd forgotten the hole puncher and trimmer, so went as far as I was able to for each one. Oh, did I mention (no, I'm sure I didn't) that I found Heidi Swapp's Love Your Handwriting book? Yes, and it was at the SB store that we had gone to the last time we were up there. If you've ever seen my writing, I should have had a M.D. after my name! LOL! It pretty much rivals what I've seen and the bad thing is that there has been times where I've been in such a rush jotting notes, when I've gone back, I can't remember what I wrote! Yikes! Time to love my handwriting!!
Oh, and I came home to to find Stacy's rolodex card in the mail with a beautiful card. I really need to finish mine so I can send one back! This week! After I do the laundry!
And Emil's off to Los Angeles this week for classes, too. He'll miss the Halloween party that our club is sponsoring tomorrow night! That would be the joint San Francisco and Peninsula Council meeting. It'll be all fun and no work. His costume was going to be a quarterback. A quarter taped to his back..... His kind of humor. Just up his alley. Thanks to whomever mentioned it at 2Peas. I knew he'd like it!

Off to Reno

Well, tomorrow morning after we go to the post office to send some packages, we're heading off to Reno. Not all for play, though. Emil has a meeting to attend for the Lions Eye Foundation. Then we have to attend a dinner. The rest of the time, is play time! Of course, I can't go anywhere without checking out a scrapbook store, so there's a couple that seems to be faves, among those who live in the area (thanks to the reponse from 2Peas).
Oh, before I forget. The packages I'm sending? Well, one I can't talk about, but the other two goes to Paper Crafts in Utah. So you want to know what could I be sending, right? A submission for a layout? Nope, I wish! LOL! Couple of months ago, one of the gals at the MB (thanks for pointing it out, Shar!)an article in the Paper Crafts magazine asking for gift bags for the children at the Navajo Reservation. I went to a meeting and asked a few of the lady Lions if they would like to participate.

I had to do it....

Add Josh Groban, that is! I'll have to find out how to resize the video, though, although just having my own personal concert doesn't bother me a bit! LOL! Wonder if it's possible to have more than one song play? As always, if you don't care to hear it, just turn your volume off.

35 years

Yesterday was our 35th wedding anniversary. We really didn't have anything planned, other than to spend some time with friends. It was a wonderfully relaxing day. The four of us drove down to Half Moon Bay and we wandered the shops. Emil almost bought me a beautiful pendant, but it was alitle too expensive and we thought we'd pass. We all looked at some diamond rings (they were all beautifully sparkly and expensive!) which also reminded me that I have to get my wedding rings repaired. Somehow, it's gotten flattened at the base so I could no longer put it on.

Altered Clipboard Calender

Last night I finished making this for a raffle prize for the Joint Council meeting coming up in a couple of weeks. I liked how the flowers on the green came out, especially since I wasn't sure if it would work. The poem that I found on-line reads: A year is a circle, Twelve months in a row. Filled with so much, to see and to know. A year is a garland, four sesons in all. A spring and a winter, a summer, a fall. A year is a ring of new days and nights. Each of them bringing a thousand delights. A year is a gift of time. All brand new and this year is waiting especially for you!

Almost forgot!

I have to show you the nameplate that was on the album and roses (for doing the scrapbook) and the clock (for being secretary) from Michael. Words cannot express what I felt receiving these....

Awards Night 10/4/05

Last night we held our Awards night. We had a great turnout, which was really nice. We had guests, a Lion all the way from PA who came on a whim and one from the San Francisco Chinatown Lions and families of of Lions.

The first award was to a long-time Lion, now an honorary member who had to drop out due to illness. Then it was Michael's (immediate past president) turn. He gave out awards and recognized everyone for all their work during his year.











Michael also recognized Roseanne, his wife for all the work she did and for supporting him during his year.
Then Emil got to give out pins to Lions Barbara and Nancy for being a Proud Lion. They received the pins for fulfilling the requirements during a 6 month period. Michael also received one as a sponsoring Lion for his guidance and help.

49er VS AZ!

I forgot! We're selling tickets to the game for December 4th. Price of the tickets also includes a raffle ticket for 49er memorabilia. I don't watch football (never can figure out where that darn ball is!) so I'm torn whether or not to go. Maybe I could download a book to listen to while at the game? LOL!

Oh, did I ever say how much I've gotten onto my namo? 2.47 GB or 699 songs, or 1.8 days worth. I decided that if I shuffle the songs, I won't hear the seme one over and over. I can always change the music down the road when I eventually get tired of what's on there now. Pretty cool, huh?

Tattoo

Last week at the Fog Fest, I got a tattoo. I should have taken a picture of it soon, as now it's lost some of its color.



This is on my wrist. Don't mind the lines. Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of your right wrist left handed? LOL!!!
I thought it was pretty cool yet feminine. At one time, I thought I would like a permanent one, just a tiny one on the ankle. But now, nah, I like the temporary ones, since it can be changed on a whim, plus you can move it around. I still have some old rose temporary tattoos somewhere tucked away. I'll have to pull it out one day and play with it.
