Flu, flu, who's got the flu and other happenings

Just reporting that while I am feeling much better (except for that darned cough) I gave the flu to Emil. Last weekend he was feeling pretty yucky and anyone who's husband has ever gotten sick knows that most times they think they're dying of something. So now that he's feeling better (except for the cough, too, he's accused me of giving it to him. Well, I did admit it. Can't say I never give you anything! Besides, he's the one that usually gives me the cold. Hmmmph!

Anyway, I was going to post the pictures of the Valentines lunch, but Emil already downloaded it to his computer, so I don't have them.

We did have our Charter Night on Tuesday. That was a nice function in celebration of 57 years of service. We only have one charter member left.

We finally inducted our two newest members (husband and wife team)Steve and Sherry. Steve was previously a Lion, but moved to AZ and moved back here about a year ago. They're really a fun couple and everytime I think of Sherry, it's pork and beans with ripple potato chips. She will always be associated with them!

President Nancy also received her proud Lion pin and her sponsor, Michael got the Proud Sponsor pin. If you wonder what that is, a Lion (old or new) has 6 months to complete five things (attend a board meeting, participate in a club service or fundraiser, introduce a prospective member, visitation to another club and attend a zone, region, district, mutliple district or international convention).

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

OK, I'm feeling better today, really. My lungs are still intact, so that's definetely a good sign.

I am, however pulling my hair out! I've been having so much problems with the printing of pictures for Nancy's album. Well, actually, Emil is. For some reason, when I print it off my computer, it comes out wonky. So he has to do it. Wonder how mad Nancy'd be with me if her albums's not ready in time. I have to scrap chronologically. Well, not really, but I really prefer to. Otherwise, I feel like I forgot an event, you know?

I didn't update what I got for Valentine's Day...... Well, I did talk to Emil on his way home from work yesterday. The conversation went something like this:

Me: What would you like for dinner? {sniffle}I just realized what time it was and it's taken me all day just to type up the minutes and agenda for tonight. {cough, cough} BTW, I don't think I'm going, either, so you get to play secretary. {sniffle}

Him: OK, no problem. Anything's fine. What would you like? Oh, I was going to get you some flowers, but since you have that cold and can't smell anything, I didn't.

Me: That's ok, I don't think I have a spot to put it at, anyway {cough, cough}....

Him: How about Valentine burritos?

Me: Fine. (sniffle, cough, cough}

OK, so I didn't get flowers, that's really OK. At least I didn't have to cook!

I was hoping to go to San Jose for the expo, but darn, the cabinet meeting's the same day. Can't miss that. And then I find out Shar's going to be there, all the way from Salt Lake. I'd love to meet up with her and Michele, too. Dang!

Then there's the stamping show this weekend. Think I really need to work on the album, so not sure if I can go. Double Dang!

Can't wait for the district convention to be over. Then I get to go to Salt Lake for some fun, shopping and scrapping and then San Jose for CKU! Yay!

A Birthday, A Luncheon, Valentine's Day and a cold...

Well, it's been sniffle/sneezy/coughing this past week. Nice way to spend my birthday. NOT! We did get to go out for dinner to my favorite restaurant for sushi and of course, a stop at the lss (local scrapbook store). Picked up a couple of items.

Saturday was a total nothing done day! I was feeling tired so decided to take a short nap which ended up to be four hours! Sunday, we were scheduled to serve lunch at one of two senior homes and we ended up serving 81 lunches there. Not sure how many lunches were served at the other place yet, though. Came home and crashed for another half hour before we had to meet the rest of the family for our dinner (combination New Years and my birthday). Bumped into Richard and Janet in J-town and they got to meet everyone. We ended up going to another restaurant for dinner as it was filled by the time everyone got there, but it was still a great dinner.

And so we come to Valentine's Day today. Hmmm. Nothing so far from my Valentine, but the day's not over yet. Did he remember? Stay tuned. I did get a Valentine's mail from my special friend. So Sweet.

Oh, yeah, I'm still coughing, in case you wondered. Not so sneezy/sniffly anymore, though. At least that makes working alittle easier. If you spot a lung flying by you, it's probably mine!

Word Cloud

Check this out!

Isn't this totally cool? Saw this over at twopeas, so of course I had to play with it, too! I know you'll want to play, so here's the link: http://www.snapshirts.com/custom.php
And, you can make a t-shirt, which I think I'm going to do.
