New blog

I'm trying out this new blog, click here to see how I like it.

Although I'm used to this one, this other one may be easier to use. I'm going to try it for a bit and see. I figure I can always transfer my posts as I have already transferred what I have here over there and it was so easy!

And introducing...

our newest niece, Alexandra Lauren from my side of the family. Isn't she sweet? She was 6 lbs 9 oz. and 20 inches born on the 4th. And guess what, she's the first on my side, too! OK, hello, you guys better catch up with the others! They've got you beat!!!

37 years ago yesterday....

Weren't we cute then??????????????

I would have posted yesterday, but I had to work, then afterwards we went out to dinner. We used to go to the Fish Market, then we started going to this Italian place, but it was closed and another restaurant has since opened in its place. This year we opted to go to Kincaid's. Nice place. Emil had his prime rib (really good!) and I had the salmon with mango salsa and jasmine rice (really good, too!). For dessert, the restaurant served us creme brulee with fresh whipped cream and strawberries on a dish that said Happy Anniversary. There was even a heart shaped lit candle. The people at the next table did a "awwwwwwwwwwwww" to us. Funny! They asked how long and when we told them, they said wow!

Anyway, the photo was taken not too long after we were married. Emil didn't have his glasses on, as the photographer asked him to take it off. Guess he couldn't take it without the lens glaring.

I have to smile at the outfit I wore. It was a jumpsuit with a matching short jacket that had fringes down to the knees. It was pretty cool then (part of my sorta hippyish phase) and I just wore it a couple of years ago for the last time (yes it did still fit, although it was getting snug!).

White Cane Days

Friday morning we had two groups to collect for White Cane Day. As you can see by the center picture, poor Nancy was freezing to death and here comes the other Nancy and Barbara with no jackets! Anyway, they did manage to stay the entire morning and did well. No pictures from Saturday, since no one had a camera! Emil & I had gone to the Healthy Club workshop, so didn't work it that day.

Today, the weather was beautiful! What a difference! We stayed until people started to dwindle down and called it a day.

White Cane Day

This weekend's White Cane Day. Our club members will be out (in the cold!) to collect donations. The money that we get this weekend will be used towards sight programs, so if you see Lions members out there, don't forget to give alittle something! Especially if it's cold out, they're out there working for the betterment of our community, so be kind to them!

If you have any used eyeglasses that you want to get rid of, it's also a good time to recycle them, too!
