Update to Convention

Oh, my! Two entries in one day! Well, I figured, since I was here anyway............

It's been a very hectic past couple of weeks. My life has been rotating around work and convention with little time for anything else. Emil even did the laundry for me yesterday, as I didn't get to it on Tuesday. Good guy! Well, we are up to over 250 people registered and I think maybe there may be a few more stragglers. Evidently these people have never been involved in setting up any kind of event or they would have put in their applications in a more timely manner.

Just a brief summary of what I'm doing. When I receive the applications, I enter it into the computer which includes info as to the type of room needed/wanted, or if they want/don't want meals and their status in the District. Copies of the forms are made before being sent off to the registration chair, along the the name tags that must be made up, too. Then I generate reports for the hotel with a listing of how many nights each person is staying with meal counts.

As for our club level, I'm still working on the President's album. I still have the cover to make, but since it will be a duplicate of her pin, just a larger version. I have the newspaper articles, thank you cards and a couple more events to put in and that will be it. Our last event is this weekend and I'm not sure if I'll be able to put it in. At least one page, anyway, hopefully!

Plus, it is the end of the month, which means more reports. One small blessing here is that the contest reports won't be due, since that ended in March. Whew! That one was the killer! The ways the rules were set up, my contest reports could generate a good 30 pages instead of the previous 10 or so, depending on how active our club was the previous month. So, vent over for that, since next year, the rules will once again change, for the better from what I've heard. But even better is that I won't have to worry about it, since I won't be secretary!!!

I've been thinking about my friend who had to go to court yesterday. She hasn't checked in yet to give us an update on how it went. I sure hope things went in her favor!

This will be the last entry for now, since we leave for Convention on Wednesday and come back on Sunday. I'll let you know how it went. Plus, it was confirmed that I will be hazed on Saturday while we're there so we'll see what they do to me! Yow!!!

Getting ready for Convention

Well, it's been a busy past few weeks and the next couple will be worse! All the last minute things that needs to be done, needs to be done so there will be an update here when I can.
