Quickie Update....

Well, you know that dinner I said we didn't have on Wednesday? Yep, we did have one and we went. Whew! That was 7 nights out of 8. Good thing it doesn't happen all the time. Last Friday night, we went to a dinner party for one of the visiting dignitaries. Nice, laid back get together.

Saturday was the Cabinet meeting. Course, we all won a bunch of prizes. They shake their heads when we start winning! Too funny! Anyway, IPDG Eugene gave out the 100% pins and I had to laugh when he called Nancy's name. She, of course pretty much never checks her email, so didn't know she was getting her pin. I got my 100% secretary's pin, also, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Emil had a power point presentation at the last dinner meeting of our Cruise of Sight2. Some tidbits for you: 8 cameras and a total of 3,514 pictures. After weeding out the fuzzy ones and duplicates, he ended up with 2,555 pictures. After selecting the best pictures, he still ended up with 527 pictures and further cut them down to 334 pictures.

I still need to take the pictures of the snack swap and will post them. Soon, I hope!

Meetings and dinners....

Yow!

Saturday night, we went out to dinner across the bay. It was at a home with a total of 5 couples. The house is beautiful and was built in 1905. It was really a nice time and no business talk at all. We didn't get home til after midnight!

Last night, we attended a meeting and Emil and I both made a presentation. I did a quick one, giving my pin and introduced Emil who spoke about our fundraising cruise and presented Connie with her Helen Keller Fellow. Tonight's our board meeting and I still need to set up the agenda for that. Thursday night's the District Convention meeting and Friday we have another dinner to attend. Then we have our cabinet meeting on Saturday.

I had thought we had another dinner on Wednesday, but it's not for another couple of weeks. I'm sure glad I remember to put everything down on my calendar most of the time!

I sure wish I had time to scrap! I've made a couple of cards and am making a tree for my hat that will be presented towards the end of the month. I'll post that (if it looks good!) when I'm done.

I'm waiting for my snack swap to arrive. It was sent out yesterday, so I'll post those when it comes. That was fun to do and I still have the friendship pages that we did to come. Some of us did that a few years ago, so it would be nice as a side by side set. I have to remember to pick up more page protectors. I keep forgetting.

My album that I put these pages in are so full! I love the snap loads that I bought, since it makes it easy to have the album as full as I want. Right now, it's about 4 inches wide and I still need to put in the set that I got a month or two ago, then it'll be wider and wider yet when I receive this next set.

Oh, and the best for last! Thanks to Nichole, I got a bunch of free prints! This will certainly get good use, as it will be used for the poster board to advertise our next fundraising cruise. I also have an album that I bought at CKU with a travel theme that I also will be using the pictures for. Only thing I'm waiting on now is for Emil to put them all into a disc for me so I can download them!

OMGOSH! My house is FILLED with SMOKE!

My cookie monster decided to make cookies after dinner. You know, the toll house ones that are ready made from Costco? So he puts them nicely onto the cookie sheet, sticks it into the oven for 15 minutes (according to directions).

So I'm smelling them and say, I smell them. Are they ready? He goes into the kitchen and I hear a "O Holy S**t!" Curiosity got the better of me, so I go and walk into the kitchen but it's now a room filled with smoke. Window's open as is the oven door. Ummm, honey, maybe you should turn off the oven, too?

10 minutes later, he's dumped the burnt to a crisp "cookies" and starts another batch.

I'll let you know if I hear fire engines this time.......

Yay!

Got the music back on, so if you want to listen, make sure your sound is on. Wish I could have gotten all the songs I really wanted, but this was all I could find on this particular site. I'll have to hunt for other sites!

Warning about Magic Erasers

Never knew this, but read this on one of the message boards I frequent. I always thought that these cleaning erasers had some kind of fantastic sandpaper to clean and now I see it has chemicals.
