Yes, it was a great trip! No pictures yet, as I still need to download them, but there's ALOT! I won't say how many, as it will be a trivia question on my president's message. So, 31 people went for the ride. 15 Lions from 6 clubs and most of Emil's family that came for the first Cruise for Sight. The only disapointment was the cancellation of the helicopter trip in Juneau. This makes it the second time, the first being six years ago when we took our first Alaskean cruise. I suppose this means we go back in six years and try again, maybe? So anyway, we did get to see whales, dolphins, seals and eagles and a rainbow. No northern lights, though.
We had great service. Our waiters Gus, Bernard and I don't know the other waiter's name and the assistant waiters were funny and fed us well. I never really saw our cabin steward, but everytime we left the room for a meal, everything would be fresh and clean when we returned. I had bought a Ty beanie baby monkey at the airport on our way over and I would find him sitting either on one of our pillows or on top of the bedside lamp every night. I got a great scarf and a beaded bag (made out of a tie!) that's way too cool from my SILs. (So, were you going to tell me how to make one?????)
We got to see more family in Ketchikan and it was so much fun to see them. The girls have gotten so big! And after the cruise, we stayed on at Bothell to visit a bit longer and got to see more family. We had gone over to Larry & Debbie's (nephew and niece's) for dinner. Emil's brother Ed made 3 cakes for the birthday babies/adults and one of them was a killer Black Forrest cake. Can I say major YUMMY? We also got some huckleberry jam (I'm hiding it!) and he carved some pieces that he generously let us all pick and keep. I also realized that I missed out on riding on a horse (Kim, you would have been so proud of me if I did! LOL!!) but I did get a picture of inside the barn. Probably one of the highlights there was the 10 (yes, you read that right!) bottles of diet coke and 3 packs of mentos. You know where this is going, right? So, yes we did get it going but failed to make it go off like a rocket. Well, it did sorta go, but just a short distance.....
